Help & FAQ

Everything you need to know about using Resume Wizard

Getting Started

How do I analyze my resume?

Using Resume Wizard is simple:

  1. Go to the homepage
  2. Paste your resume text into the first text box
  3. Paste the job description you're targeting into the second text box
  4. Enter your email address (this is how we track your credits)
  5. Click "Analyze Resume"

You'll receive a detailed analysis showing your ATS score, missing keywords, keyword density, and actionable suggestions to improve your resume.

What's the resume rewrite feature?

After analyzing your resume, you'll have the option to get an AI-powered rewrite. This feature transforms your resume by:

  • Naturally incorporating missing keywords
  • Strengthening weak bullet points with impact-focused language
  • Improving overall readability for human recruiters
  • Maintaining authenticity while boosting ATS compatibility

The rewritten resume balances ATS optimization with human appeal, so you pass the robots and impress the hiring managers.

How do I export my results?

After your analysis is complete, click the "Export Results" button. This will download a formatted document with your analysis, suggestions, and rewritten resume (if you used that feature). You can then copy the content into your actual resume document.

Credits & Pricing

How do credits work?

Credits are tied to your email address. Each analysis uses one credit. When you purchase a package, those credits are added to your account and can be used anytime.

Free trial: Every email gets 1 free analysis to try Resume Wizard risk-free.

What credit packages are available?

We offer flexible packages to fit your job search needs:

  • 5 Analyses - Perfect for targeting a handful of positions
  • 20 Analyses - Great for active job seekers applying to multiple roles
  • 50 Analyses - Best value for extended job searches or career coaches

See current pricing on our pricing page.

Do credits expire?

No! Your credits never expire. Use them at your own pace, whether that's all at once or over several months.

Can I get a refund?

Since we offer a free trial, refunds are generally not available for credit packages. However, if you experience technical issues or have concerns, please contact support@resumewizard.pro and we'll work with you to make things right.

Account Management

I changed computers. How do I access my credits?

Your credits are tied to your email address, not your device. Simply enter the same email address you used when purchasing, and your remaining credits will be available automatically.

If you're having trouble accessing your credits, use the "Restore Credits" feature:

  1. Enter your email on the homepage
  2. Click "Restore Credits" (appears after entering email)
  3. Check your email for a verification link
  4. Click the link to restore access to your credits

How do I check my remaining credits?

After entering your email address on the homepage, your remaining credit count will be displayed before you run an analysis. You'll always know how many analyses you have left.

Can I use the same email for multiple purchases?

Absolutely! When you purchase additional credits with the same email, they're added to your existing balance. There's no need to create multiple accounts.

Tips & Best Practices

How can I get the best results?

  • Use complete job descriptions: The more detail in the job posting, the better our analysis
  • Include your full resume: Don't leave out sections. We need the complete picture
  • Focus on recent experience: Emphasize your last 10-15 years of work
  • Review the suggestions carefully: Not every keyword makes sense for your specific background. Use judgment
  • Keep it truthful: Only add skills and keywords you actually have experience with

What's a good ATS score?

While there's no universal standard, here's a general guide:

  • 85%+: Excellent match, very likely to pass ATS screening
  • 70-84%: Good match, strong chance of passing
  • 60-69%: Moderate match, needs improvement
  • Below 60%: Weak match, significant revisions recommended

Remember: the score is just one factor. Focus on making your resume compelling for humans, not just robots. Read our blog post "Don't Beat the ATS, Meet the Hiring Manager" for more on this.

Should I tailor my resume for every job?

Yes! Generic resumes rarely get interviews. Use Resume Wizard to analyze your resume against each specific job description. This helps you identify which keywords and skills to emphasize for that particular role. It takes a few extra minutes but dramatically increases your interview rate.
